To meet New York's professional education requirement for veterinary technicians, applicants must have completed a veterinary technology education program accredited by an organization acceptable to the State's education department (NYSED).

Penn Foster is on the list of distance education programs in veterinary technology accredited by the AVMA Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA) at https://www.avma.org/ProfessionalDevelopment/Education/Accreditation/Programs/Pages/vettech_distance_learning.aspx.
